Marty and I had the unique pleasure of hearing The Cyrus Chesnut Trio perform at The Jazz Standard (116 East 27th St. New York, NY) last Friday evening! We have seen him several times before and each time Cyrus is better. Some jazz pianists tickle the ivories but under Cyrus’s amazing hands no ivory is safe! We got to hear delightful tunes from their new Journeys CD with Dezron Douglas on bass and Neal Smith on drums. The Jazz Standard is a great venue, spacious and clean with delicious food available from Blue Smoke upstairs!
